    KU Bar & Klub

Located just a few steps from Leicester Square, KU Bar & Klub is a long-running and independently owned gay bar and dance club in central London. Its location places it close to Soho’s gay scene, with venues such as Village Soho, Rupert Street Bar, and The Yard only a short walk away.

The spacious ground floor bar attracts a mixed crowd of locals and visitors, from twinks and muscle guys to tourists exploring London’s LGBTQ+ nightlife. Large flat screen TVs play chart music videos throughout the night, while the friendly KU bar team keeps the drinks flowing.

Downstairs, KU Klub offers a more club-style setting with DJs and a lively dance floor. Entry is usually free, though there is a small cover charge on Fridays and Saturdays after 11pm.

KU has remained one of London’s most popular gay venues for many years. A great place to begin or end a gay night out in London.

Extremely Disappointed by the Service and Treatment

I am deeply disappointed by the service and lack of empathy shown by the staff, particularly the security team, during my recent visit. My group and I, being regulars at the nightclub, were treated with blatant disrespect and poor communication. I was waiting in line with my group of five, and I politely asked if there might be a possibility of a discount to enter, as we had been at the bar for some time. When I was informed that a discount wasn't possible, the security guard immediately told me I was "in the way of the queue." Things escalated when the bouncer became angry for no reason, as I wasn't causing any trouble. I wasn’t intoxicated or disruptive—just simply trying to ask about an offer. Instead of providing a simple explanation or guidance, the bouncer proceeded to rudely deny entry to my entire group, which felt completely unwarranted. I was ready to pay and enjoy the night, but instead, I faced unnecessary hostility and exclusion, which left me feeling like there was an underlying prejudice involved. I’ve never experienced this level of disrespect in all my years of visiting, and the way we were treated was completely uncalled for. This experience has left me questioning the professionalism and attitude of the security staff. It’s clear there’s a serious issue with communication and customer service, and I sincerely hope management takes this matter seriously. It's hard to recommend a place where regulars are treated this poorly, and I’m waiting for Kubar to address this situation.

Terrible Place.... NOT Welcoming to Americans

Unless you are from London, DO NOT visit Ku Bar. The atmosphere was very harsh for the American tourist. My party and I felt very unwelcome. We bought one drink and quickly went to a more welcoming establishment. If you are American..... DO NOT visit Ku Bar!
