Portland Gay Dance Clubs

CC Slaughters has been part of Portland’s queer nightlife since 1981, and its house drag-MC Bolivia Carmichaels sums up the welcome nicely: “if you're here, you're queer, and if you're not queer...you're still here!”

The Old Town Chinatown venue gives you two very different places to spend the night. The main room has a large dance floor, DJs, go-go dancers, drag shows and a new stage with professional sound and lighting. Next door, The Rainbow Room is a martini lounge with food and a quieter place to sit.

Add drag bingo, karaoke, themed parties, and viewing parties to the weekly mix, and there’s usually a reason to come back.

Holocene is a two-level nightclub, music venue, and arts space in inner Southeast Portland. It has been operating in a former auto warehouse since 2003, hosting touring acts, local musicians, and all kinds of arts events.

There are two dance floors, with eclectic DJs and techno alongside live bands and drag shows. The lounge bar offers a quieter place to sit, while elevated platforms and tables give you better sightlines when you're farther back. There’s also food, drinks, and a self-serve water station. Keep a memento for the night at the photobooth inside!
